Green Goddess Dressing

Most evenings my go-to salad dressing is a simple vinaigrette know...smidge of dijon....vinegar...squeeze of lemon...bit of honey...sometimes a tad of chopped shallot...salt...pepper...oil.

On other evenings that are not in the "most" category, I like to change things up a bit. Last night I made a green goddess dressing with fresh basil from my garden and a bunch of organic green onions that I picked up at the store.

Green Goddess Dressing

1/2 c mayonnaise
1/2 c sour cream
8 green onions (white and green parts)
1 lemon, juiced
handful of fresh basil leaves
squeeze of anchovy paste
dash or two of tabasco
salt and pepper, to taste

1. Add all ingredients into your food processor and blend thoroughly*
2. chill and serve

*If you don't own a food processor, chop up the herbs and onions finely and whisk together with the remaining ingredients

Once you've got the dressing made,  the salad itself is super simple: pick your lettuce of choice (bibb, butter, iceberg, romaine..etc) and top with a couple of sweet grape tomatoes,  green goddess dressing, and some freshly cracked pepper. 



  1. I just noticed that your Day count was gone and it must mean that classes had ended. Got caught up and see that you are now out and about in Sunny Cali - is that correct? I am not a huge food person where I can actually cook many of the things you do make, but love the pictures, the rundown you give about your meals and the wonderful passion you put into your posts. Congratulations on the great achievement with the culinary career!!!!!

  2. Thanks for supporting the blog! I was in California for 6 weeks and now I'm back in Seattle working like is officially over and graduation is in two weeks...I will have to find another learning adventure to partake on soon..stay tuned!
