Tonight's the big night and I can't decide what I'm most excited about. There are sure to be a few fashion forward red carpet stunners,  Seth Macfarlane is hosting, and of course Wolfgang Puck will be cooking dinner for 1,600 guests as he has done every year for the past consecutive 19 years.

Chef puck will be making his mini golden chocolate oscar statuettes (requiring over 30 lbs of edible gold dust) along with some new offerings this year including vegan options (kale salad with grilled artichokes and edamame guacamole on kombu seaweed chips) and classics like his much loved lamb chops and chicken pot pies. His prep team will shuck over 1,300 oysters, crack over 1,250 stone crab claws, and de-vein over 7,500 shrimp.  Appetizers will include excessive amounts of sushi, kobe sliders, smoked salmon "pizza" cones, and baked potatoes smothered in caviar.

The best part of watching the Oscars is the fact that it's a live show - anything can happen (there is always bound to be a surprise or two) and you won't want to miss a minute of it so get cozy and make a few fabulous snacks to get you through all 3+ hours of it.

Here's a peek at the menu I put together with my favorite gals over at Apples & Onions for this year's show:
